Creating Connections Through Covid-19
Thanks to the Smart & Caring Fund at the South Saskatchewan Community Foundation, REALM can create ongoing connection with Centres and networks through Covid-19.
According to the Covid Disability Advisory Group, “person with disabilities face unique and heightened challenges and vulnerabilities in a time of pandemic.” As one REALM Centre shared, “living in long term care during this pandemic makes me feel like I’m in jail. I haven’t been out in months and haven’t been able to visit with my friends. It’s really hard.”
Smart & Caring Funding will help us host virtual social activities, provide regular professional mental health and wellness checks, facilitate peer-to-peer support groups, and help fill the gaps in service and support created by Covid-19.
REALM is grateful to the Smart & Caring Fund at the South Saskatchewan Community Foundation for their support.
